  • Medicinal Uses:

    • All parts are used for the treatment of bronchitis, bronchial asthma, malaria, diarrhoea, dysentery, skin diseases, arthritis, eye diseases, chronic fever and insect bites.

    • It is also reported to possess antifertility, anticancer, antidiabetic, antifungal, antimicrobial, cardioprotective, analgesic, antispasmodic and adaptogenic activities.

    • In traditional medicine it is used to treat patients suffering from skin diseases, such as ringworm, itches, leprosy, impurity of blood.

    • Juice of the leaves is dropped in the ear for earache.

    • The seeds are mucilaginous and demulcent and are used as a remedy in genitourinary disorders.
